In an exciting final round at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Scottie Scheffler claimed the gold medal in men’s golf, showcasing an incredible performance at Le Golf National.

Scheffler, who had entered the final round in sixth place, shot an impressive 9-under 62, finishing the tournament with a total score of 19-under par. His remarkable effort topped Great Britain‘s Tommy Fleetwood, who finished just one stroke behind at 18-under par.

Starting off strong, Scheffler made birdies on his first three holes, quickly boosting his score to 13-under. He maintained his momentum, carding another six birdies without any bogeys throughout his round.

Things took a twist on the par-4 17th hole when Fleetwood, who was vying for gold, made a bogey. This allowed Scheffler to secure a slight lead, ultimately finishing with a par on the final hole.

Japan‘s Hideki Matsuyama also shone in the final round, finishing with 17-under par and securing the bronze medal. He made six birdies and no bogeys, marking a significant achievement for Japan.

The leaderboard reflected Scheffler’s dominance throughout the competition, as he became the first world number one golfer to win Olympic gold. Meanwhile, his fellow countryman Xander Schauffele, the defending champion, struggled to keep pace, finishing out of the medal spots.

As the competition wrapped up, the excitement among fans and players was palpable, with Scheffler’s win bringing a new chapter to Team USA’s Olympic golf legacy.
