Seattle Seahawks Vs Atlanta Falcons 2024

The Seattle Seahawks face significant roster changes ahead of their upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons, as the team grapples with several injuries. The Seahawks have elevated cornerbacks Josh Jobe and Faion Hicks from the practice squad to bolster their lineup after a string of injuries at the cornerback position.

In advance of Sunday’s game, Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III has been listed as questionable due to an illness. Walker has been a pivotal part of Seattle’s offense this season, having rushed for 234 yards and scored five touchdowns in just four games, as well as catching 21 passes for 136 yards.

Cornerbacks Riq Woolen and Tre Brown are confirmed to be out for the game due to ankle injuries. The absence of both players follows the placement of Artie Burns on injured reserve earlier in the week after suffering a toe injury. Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed anticipation for the newly promoted players in the upcoming game, saying, “Faion will come up, Josh Jobe will come up and play. Then the other guys on the roster will get a great opportunity to go out there and show what they can do. Excited to see them play.”

Macdonald has indicated that Devon Witherspoon will be starting in the cornerback position, with his ability to play both inside and outside affording the team various strategic options. The team is considering several lineup possibilities, including using Nehemiah Pritchett, who recently filled in for an injured Woolen, as well as possibly deploying safety Coby Bryant, given his prior experience at cornerback.

Josh Jobe joined the Seahawks just before the start of the regular season, following his release from the Philadelphia Eagles, with whom he played for two seasons. Faion Hicks, a 2022 seventh-round draft pick out of Wisconsin, joined the Seahawks later in late August after brief stints with the Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and Cleveland Browns.

The Seahawks’ focus remains on adjusting their roster to cover key absences and maintain competitive performance as they face the Falcons. Team officials and fans alike will be keen to see how these adjustments play out on the field.
