U.S. Under-17 Soccer Team Kicks Off World Cup in Qatar

AL RAYYAN, Qatar — The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team begins its journey in Group I of the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup on Wednesday, Nov. 5, against Burkina Faso at 10:15 a.m. ET.

This matchup marks the second time the two teams have met in this tournament. The first encounter was during the 2023 World Cup, where the U.S. secured a 2-1 victory. This win improved the American team’s record against African nations in the tournament to 4 wins, 8 losses, and 1 draw.

The U.S. squad is making its 19th appearance in the U-17 World Cup, holding the record for the most participations in FIFA history. They have reached the knockout stages ten times throughout their history. Burkina Faso, competing in their sixth tournament, seeks to put forth a strong performance in this year’s event.

Following the match against Burkina Faso, the U.S. will play Tajikistan on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 9:45 a.m. ET, and will wrap up the group stage against Czechia on Tuesday, Nov. 11, also at 9:45 a.m. ET. All group matches will take place at the Aspire Zone in Al Rayyan.
