Sporting Kansas City Kicks Off 2024 Mls Season With Exciting Events

Sporting Kansas City is set to begin their much-anticipated 2024 season with an away match against the Houston Dynamo at Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CT.

The contest, a rematch from last season’s Western Conference Semifinals, will be live-streamed for MLS Season Pass subscribers, offering English and Spanish streams. Several Pub Partners across Kansas City will also broadcast the game, with an official watch party at The No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power & Light District. Special food and drink deals will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday including discounted Anheuser-Busch drafts, wells, and select appetizers.

On Tuesday, Sporting Kansas City will host a Season Kickoff Party, presented by Compass Minerals, adidas, and Michelob Ultra, at The Truman in downtown Kansas City from 6:30-9 p.m. CT. The event will include all Sporting players, The Crossroad Sound as the live band, and Nate Bukaty as the host. Fans can expect an introduction of the 2024 roster and the opportunity to purchase snacks, drinks, and Sporting Kansas City merchandise.

The Sporting KC Show is set to return this Friday from 6-7 p.m. CT on Sports Radio 810 WHB, featuring co-hosts Jon Kempin and Blake Aerni to preview Sporting Kansas City’s season opener. The Sporting KC Show Podcast will also be available for supporters across various platforms.

Additionally, Friday marks the MLS Roster Compliance Deadline for Sporting Kansas City and all teams, as they must ensure full compliance with the league’s roster rules and regulations.

Sporting KC II will continue their preseason on Saturday with an exhibition match against UMKC at Swope Soccer Village. The team is gearing up for the start of the MLS NEXT Pro season on March 17.
