Storm Surge Warning Issued for Bay of Fundy
Environment Canada has issued a storm surge warning for areas along the Bay of Fundy. High storm surge levels and large waves are expected to cause problems in the region on Saturday. Coastal flooding, beach erosion, and minor infrastructure damage are possible, particularly along south-facing coastlines of the western Bay of Fundy.

The warning states that water levels will exceed high astronomical tide, leading to the inundation of vulnerable sections of the coastline. Maximum wave heights will be around three to five metres, crashing upon reaching the shore.

According to Environment Canada, people near the coast should closely monitor worsening conditions and be prepared to move to a safer location at a moment’s notice. The impacts are expected to occur from near noon Saturday until early evening, with the worst conditions being during high tide in the early afternoon.
