Strasbourg Jagiellonia Bialystok Football Match

Strasbourg, France – On Thursday, Strasbourg will host Jagiellonia Bialystok in a UEFA Conference League match as both teams aim to build on their opening victories. The match kicks off at 5:45 PM UK time.

Strasbourg won their first match of the campaign with a 2-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava, marking their return to European competition for the first time in two decades. A seventh-place finish in Ligue 1 last season paved the way for this return, following a playoff triumph over Brondby.

In their opening game, Strasbourg took the lead thanks to an own goal from Slovan’s Alasana Yirajang in the 26th minute, and Abdoul Ouattara doubled the lead fifteen minutes later. Rahim Ibrahim added a consolation goal for Slovan in the second half.

Since that opening win, Strasbourg has gone on an unbeaten run, beating Angers 5-0 in Ligue 1 and securing a thrilling 3-3 draw against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain. The team remains third in the league standings and has won seven of its 11 matches across all competitions this season.

Strasbourg boasts an impressive home record in UEFA competitions, currently on a 15-match unbeaten streak at home, including qualifying rounds.

Meanwhile, Jagiellonia Bialystok traveled to France with confidence, having gone 17 matches without a defeat, including 12 wins. Their most recent victory was a 1-0 win over Hamrun Spartans thanks to a strike from a 57th-minute goal.

Jagiellonia currently sits atop the Polish league after following up their win over Hamrun with league victories over Korona Kielce and Arka Gdynia. They aim to progress to the knockout stage of the Conference League for the second consecutive season.

Both teams come into the match with solid defensive records, with Strasbourg keeping four clean sheets in their last five home matches and Jagiellonia managing four shutouts in their last six outings.

Strasbourg will be without defenders Mamadou Sarr and Saidou Sow due to ongoing injuries. Additionally, midfielder and forward are sidelined with fitness issues. However, striker leads the Ligue 1 scoring chart with seven goals and will aim to add a continental goal to his tally.

Jagiellonia has no injuries to report aside from their goalkeeper, as Milosz Piekutowski is expected to start in goal. The visitors also feature a standout performer from the last match against Arka, who scored twice as a substitute.

The predicted starting lineups for the match showcase both teams’ strengths in this highly anticipated clash.
