Suns’ Ryan Dunn Highlights Team Chemistry After Recent Wins
PHOENIX, Arizona — Ryan Dunn discussed why the Phoenix Suns are performing better this season than last, following a series of eight wins in their past 10 games.
“I think it’s a mix of everything,” Dunn said on Thursday. “To be honest with you, coaching, roster — people might even say like not having expectation on ourselves or just going down and just playing free, but I think for us, our locker room is really, really good. We all gel together.”
Dunn emphasized that the team built camaraderie before the season, with trips to Flagstaff, shared workouts, and team dinners. “We all like each other, and it’s just fun playing with guys that really enjoy each other,” Dunn added.
He compared this unity to last season, stating, “Not saying last year wasn’t like that… you can just feel a different sense of energy coming in on the floor and coming in the locker room.”
Dunn also highlighted Dillon Brooks as a key contributor to the team’s positive atmosphere. “Oh man, it’s meant a lot,” he said. “Just to have that person not only on the court but off the court… he’s just a really down-to-earth guy and someone you love to have in your locker room.”
Dunn expressed his gratitude for not having to compete against Brooks, praising his influence on the team’s mentality. “He sets the tone early for us just trying to make sure that we’re in the right headspace,” Dunn said.
Despite Brooks’ reputation on the court, Dunn clarified, “No, he’s not crazy. He’s really nice, he’s really down to earth. He likes to make jokes, he likes to laugh like everybody else.”
