NEW ORLEANS — The stage is set for Super Bowl LIX as the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs prepare to clash in a highly anticipated matchup. Both teams bring extensive championship experience, with the Chiefs appearing in their third consecutive Super Bowl and the Eagles fielding four players who have played in three Super Bowls since 2017.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, in his second Super Bowl in three years, emphasized the importance of maintaining focus amidst the spectacle. “There’s a lot of external things that really don’t matter,” Hurts said. “Just keep the main thing the main thing.”

The Chiefs boast five players—Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, Harrison Butker, and James Winchester—who will each appear in their fifth Super Bowl. Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy praised the tenacity of right guard Trey Smith, a potential free agent target for the Chicago Bears. “I love his attitude,” Nagy said. “You gotta have that.”

The NFL also announced its first regular-season game in Ireland for 2025, with the Steelers serving as the home team at Dublin‘s Croke Park. The league will play three games in London, and one each in Berlin and Madrid next season.

Injury reports indicate Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) will play, while center Nick Gates (groin), tight end C.J. Uzomah (abdomen), and defensive end Brandon Graham (elbow) are questionable. The Chiefs reported perfect practice attendance except for defensive lineman Fabien Lovett, who left with an illness, and wide receiver Skyy Moore (abdomen), who is doubtful.

With both teams rich in playoff experience, Super Bowl LIX promises to be a thrilling contest, blending seasoned veterans and rising stars in pursuit of the Lombardi Trophy.
