Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika received a red card while playing for Club Brugge in their 1-1 draw against Charleroi at Stade du Pays de Charleroi, according to reports from Belgium. Onyedika has been showing impressive form for Club Brugge this season under the guidance of manager Nick Hayen. He was included in the starting lineup for their Jupiler League match against Charleroi on Friday.

The first half of the match ended without any goals, with Onyedika performing decently. The action intensified in the second half, initially marked by Parfait Guiagon’s opening goal for Charleroi in the 48th minute. In the 55th minute, Onyedika committed a foul in an attempt to win the ball. While the tackle seemed to warrant a yellow card, the referee judged it as severe enough to endanger another player and subsequently issued a red card to Onyedika.

Despite being reduced to ten men, Club Brugge managed to adapt well and provided strong competition for Charleroi. The Belgian champions eventually secured an equalizer just before the conclusion of the match, ending the game in a 1-1 draw. As a result of the red card, Onyedika will miss Club Brugge’s upcoming Jupiler League fixture against Royale Union SG.

In Spain, Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade continued her impressive start to the season with Atletico Madrid. Following a brace in a previous match against Valencia, Ajibade maintained her goal-scoring form as Atletico Madrid triumphed over Madrid CFF with a 4-0 victory at the Centro Deportivo Wanda Alcala de Henares.

The match saw Paolo Ulloa inadvertently scoring an own goal in the 21st minute, followed by Ajibade doubling Atletico Madrid’s lead in the 51st minute. Later contributions from an own goal by Emily Assis and a goal by Synne Jensen completed the 4-0 win for Atletico Madrid.
