Sydney Fc Vs Central Coast Mariners Friendly Match

Sydney FC delivered a commanding performance in a pre-season friendly, defeating the Central Coast Mariners by a score of six goals to three. The match took place at Sky Park on Wednesday, featuring a hat-trick by Patryk Klimala and goals from Corey Hollman, Douglas Costa, and Adrian Segecic for the home side.

Patryk Klimala opened the scoring for Sydney FC in the 23rd minute with an assist from Corey Hollman. The Polish forward added his second goal in the 40th minute, further extending Sydney’s lead. The Central Coast Mariners managed to pull one back just before halftime with Alou Kuol converting a simple tap-in.

The second half continued in the same high-scoring fashion. Corey Hollman scored for Sydney FC in the 48th minute, but the Mariners quickly responded with a goal from Arthur De Lima in the 49th minute. Douglas Costa got his first goal in sky blue in the 59th minute, shortly followed by Klimala completing his hat-trick in the 65th minute.

Substitute Adrian Segecic added Sydney’s sixth goal in the 69th minute after a mistake by the Mariners’ keeper was exploited by Jaiden Kucharski. The Mariners did manage a third goal in the 78th minute through Will Wilson, but Sydney FC’s lead remained unassailable.

Throughout the match, Sydney FC showcased dominance in possession, estimated at around 80%, keeping the Mariners on the defensive for most of the game. The performance also marked Alex Popovic‘s first start under new head coach Ufuk Talay.

With this promising display in the pre-season, Sydney FC looks to build momentum ahead of their upcoming AFC Champions League match against FC Kaya Iloilo in Manila.
