Ted Lasso Season Four

The popular football-based comedy series, Ted Lasso, is reportedly gearing up for a fourth season, with pre-production speculated to start in London in January 2025. This development has been much anticipated by fans and Apple TV executives alike, hoping to bolster the streaming platform’s lineup.

The information was disclosed by Sigmund Judge, a writer for Mac Stories, who reported, “Exclusive: Ted Lasso S4 is set to begin pre-production in January. According to my sources, the football drama is now confirmed to return next year with a fourth instalment, with London shoots beginning in early 2025!” Judge further mentioned that this season will be a direct continuation rather than a spin-off, hinting that Jason Sudeikis, the show’s star and head writer, could reprise his role.

This news follows speculation about the direction of Ted Lasso after previous seasons have delighted audiences with their heartwarming narratives centered around the fictional football club, AFC Richmond. The series plays a significant role in Apple’s original programming, which is known for its high production values.

Apple TV+ is currently noted for providing some of the top original content available on streaming platforms. However, it has been facing challenges in retaining viewer engagement and justifying the costs of its content production, reportedly spending $20 million per episode on series like Severance. Analysts suggest Apple may have to increasingly depend on third-party licensed content to sustain its service.

The potential return of Ted Lasso is thus seen as a strategic move to reinforce Apple TV+’s appeal amidst these ongoing trials in the competitive streaming market.
