Telangana MLA Lasya Nanditha’s Tragic Death: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislator, G Lasya Nanditha, met a tragic end in a car accident on the Outer Ring Road in Telangana‘s Sangerddy district, near Hyderabad. Remarkably, this incident was preceded by another car crash that she survived just ten days before.
Nanditha was involved in a car accident in Narkatpally on February 13 while en route to join Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Shekhar Rao’s rally. The collision, caused by a drunk driver near Nalgonda, had unfortunately claimed the life of a Home Guard accompanying her.
The Telangana MLA, who had recently purchased a new car after the Nalgonda crash, was hailed as a first-time legislator from Secunderabad Cantonment, emerging as a significant figure in the political landscape.
Tragedy struck as Nanditha’s vehicle lost control on the expressway, colliding with a road divider in Sangareddy district. Despite wearing a seat belt, the impact led to her serious injuries and ultimately, her untimely death. The driver, who also wore a seat belt, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
The 37-year-old accomplished political figure, who was trapped in a December 2023 elevator crash and had previously experienced two other recent accidents, had a family background in politics. Her father, the late G Sayanna, was a former BRS legislator.
Tributes poured in following Nanditha’s sudden demise, with KT Rama Rao, a senior BRS leader, expressing deep sympathy for the young legislator’s unexpected passing. Likewise, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, reminisced about his close association with Nanditha’s father, highlighting the sorrow surrounding her death at such a young age.
Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu of TDP, also conveyed condolences, emphasizing Lasya Nanditha’s promising future and the irony in her passing following her father’s demise the prior year.
