George Pickens Tennessee Titans News

Nashville, TN — The Tennessee Titans face a challenging 2025 season, with struggles evident across the board. First overall pick Cam Ward has had a difficult tenure so far, but the Titans are exploring options to support him as they head into the offseason.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report recently identified wide receiver George Pickens as a potential free-agent target for the Titans in 2026. With a current season record of 49 catches for 764 yards and six touchdowns, Pickens has proven to be a formidable player with the Dallas Cowboys. The Titans could benefit from adding him to their roster, providing Ward with a much-needed veteran target.

Despite his impressive stats this season, Pickens comes with some concerns. He earned a troublesome reputation during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he struggled with team dynamics. However, as Knox pointed out, Pickens has maintained a clean slate in Dallas, having a career year that has him on track to surpass the 1,140 receiving yards he achieved in 2023.

“Wide receiver George Pickens should be thrilled he got the 2025 change of scenery he did. We haven’t heard any negatives about the 24-year-old in Dallas, and he’s having a career year,” Knox wrote.

While bringing Pickens to Tennessee has its advantages, it also presents challenges. With two of Ward’s three starting wide receivers being rookies, the addition of an experienced player like Pickens could enhance teamwork. However, Knox noted that a predicted three-year, $90 million contract for Pickens may be risky, given his history of being problematic.

“It’s doubtful that Tennessee would be somewhere Pickens would want to go too, considering how bad they’ve been,” Knox mentioned. Yet the allure of money might sway Pickens to consider the Titans if they make a compelling offer, especially with a lack of other suitors.
