One 170 Impact Arena Bangkok Martial Arts Event

BANGKOK, Thailand — On Friday, January 24, the world’s largest martial arts organization, ONE Championship, returned with a blockbuster event at the sold-out Impact Arena. The card featured a trio of World Title fights, headlined by a highly anticipated rematch between Thai megastars in the main event.

In the headline bout, reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai defended his title against ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon. The clash marked their second encounter, with both fighters showcasing their elite striking skills in front of a raucous home crowd.

Flyweight Muay Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who was in attendance, shared his thoughts on the main event. “For these two, I think it’s the second round when we can see who’d miss something or let their guard down first. They have an equal chance. Just one shot,” Rodtang said. “It’s going to be so much fun exchanging kicks. It’s going to be on fire.”

The penultimate fight saw ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Fabricio Andrade defend his title against #3-ranked contender John Lineker in another thrilling rematch. Meanwhile, the interim ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title was on the line as Scottish powerhouse Nico Carrillo faced off against Thai-Algerian phenom Mohammed Boutasaa.

The 12-fight card showcased top-tier martial artists competing across four disciplines: Muay Thai, kickboxing, MMA, and submission grappling. The event drew global attention, with fans tuning in live on watch.onefc.com.

Rodtang, a former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion, expressed his pride in Thailand’s martial arts legacy. “I support both of them. I love both of my brothers,” he said, referring to Tawanchai and Superbon. “No matter what, do your best.”

ONE 170 marked another milestone for ONE Championship, solidifying its reputation as a premier platform for martial arts. The event also set the stage for future blockbusters, including ONE 171 in Qatar and ONE 172 featuring Takeru vs. Rodtang.
