Thousands of African National Congress (ANC) supporters have congregated at the iconic FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, where the party is hosting its Siyanqoba rally to culminate its extensive election campaign.

As early as 9 am, buses from various provinces including Limpopo, the Free State, North West, and the Northern Cape, could be seen lining up outside Kaizer Chiefs‘ home ground, transporting eager supporters to the rally.

Both police officers and Amapanyaza crime wardens were kept busy managing the crowds of ANC loyalists vying to enter the stadium complex, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere.

The routes leading to the stadium were adorned with informal traders selling a plethora of ANC-branded merchandise, while enterprising youth from the vibrant township of Soweto caught the opportunity to generate income by vending ANC cheek stickers for a nominal fee of R5.

With the stadium gradually filling up, the energy was palpable as renowned gospel artist Bucie Radebe took to the stage, further heightening the excitement among attendees.

“I am thrilled about the rally finally taking place. I hope that those who doubted the ANC’s chances in the upcoming elections will now see the party’s strength. The ANC remains the only political entity capable of tackling our country’s challenges,” expressed Mary Chauke, a devoted ANC supporter from Limpopo.
