Thunder Aim to Extend Winning Streak Against Trail Blazers Wednesday Night
PORTLAND, OR – The Oklahoma City Thunder (8-0) will face the Portland Trail Blazers (4-3) at Moda Center on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET. The Thunder are 3.5-point favorites as they seek to extend their eight-game winning streak.
In their last game, the Thunder defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 126-107, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the team with 30 points. The matchup also features an over/under of 229.5 points.
Oklahoma City comes into the matchup riding high as the only undefeated team in the NBA and leading the league in both net and defensive ratings. However, they will be playing their second game in two nights, and Chet Holmgren is expected to sit out for rest after recovering from a back injury. Additionally, players Alex Caruso, Lu Dort, and Jalen Williams will also be unavailable.
Despite missing key players, the Thunder have proven resilient, boasting an impressive 11-0 record without Holmgren and Williams over the past two seasons. Gilgeous-Alexander, the reigning NBA MVP, has stepped up significantly, averaging 32 points and 7.1 assists in games without them.
Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers are grappling with their own challenges, as head coach Chauncey Billups is on leave following his arrest. Nevertheless, the Blazers have had standout performances from Deni Avdija, who averages a career-high 24.1 points per game, and Jerami Grant, who has excelled off the bench with 20.1 points per game.
Both teams excel defensively, with the Blazers leading the league in steals and the Thunder not far behind. However, with the Thunder’s deep roster and championship experience, they are expected to find a way to win, even with a short bench.
In their last outings, Oklahoma City has shown resilience by winning each contest by significant margins. Given their depth and performance, they are favored to win against the Blazers, although Portland’s home advantage and recent strong performances could make this an exciting matchup.
