Thunder Signs Chris Youngblood to Two-Way Contract After Strong Summer

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Saturday that they have signed former guard Chris Youngblood to a two-way contract. This deal allows Youngblood to split time between the Thunder and their NBA G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue.
Each NBA team can have three players on two-way contracts. These players do not count towards the 15-player standard roster but may participate in up to 50 games with the NBA team while shifting back and forth from their G League team without going through waivers.
Youngblood previously played one season at Alabama after stints at Kennesaw State and South Florida. He was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season, averaging 10.3 points and 2.3 rebounds over 28 games. Under his leadership, Alabama reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament.
Despite not being drafted in 2025, Youngblood showcased his skills in the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas this July, where he averaged 12.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in five games. He also impressed during the preseason, contributing 14.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.
The Thunder, who won the NBA championship in 2024-25, are set to open their 2025-26 season against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. CDT at Paycor City in Oklahoma City.
