Tom Brady Las Vegas Raiders Minority Owner Changes

Las Vegas, NV — The Las Vegas Raiders continue to reshape their organization as they prepare for the 2025 season, following a tumultuous 2024 campaign that saw the dismissal of former head coach Antonio Pierce after just one season. The Raiders, who finished with a disappointing 4-13 record in 2024, ended their season on a high note, winning two of their last three games after initially struggling through a 10-game losing streak.

In a bid to find stability, the Raiders have cycled through five head coaches and general managers since 2020, transitioning from Jon Gruden to Josh McDaniels and now to the newly appointed head coach under the watchful gaze of minority owner Tom Brady. Brady’s involvement has influenced other key decisions, including the hiring of general manager John Spytek.

The franchise’s efforts to find a steady direction have also led to notable departures, including Champ Kelly, the interim head coach who was expected to retain a role in the new leadership structure. Kelly’s termination came as a surprise, particularly given his past working relationship with Spytek from their scouting days. However, he is now interviewing for the vacant general manager position, which could enhance his prospects in the NFL given his experience.

Meanwhile, Pierce, who was let go from the Raiders, has transitioned back to coaching through his alma mater, the University of Arizona. His new role includes being the keynote speaker at a ‘Coaching Clinic’ on March 28 and 29, drawing from his experience in the NFL to guide high school coaches.

Pierce’s exit from the Raiders comes on the heels of his resignation from Arizona State University in 2022 due to a sanctions-related investigation involving recruiting violations during the COVID pandemic. Even though NCAA rules temporarily restrict his coaching capacity, he will remain active in mentoring through speaking engagements.

This ongoing reshuffling in Las Vegas highlights the Raiders’ struggle to establish a competitive foundation. With Brady now a minority owner, the hope remains that his extensive experience and success can lead to improved performance from the organization. Brady is expected to make an indelible mark not only on the team’s strategy but also on its culture as it moves forward into the next season.
