Tony Finau Struggles at U.S. Open, Falls on Leaderboard

PENNSYLVANIA – Tony Finau‘s strong start at the U.S. Open took a hit on Saturday.
After an even-par finish in the second round, the native of Utah faced challenges at Oakmont Country Club, shooting a +4 in the third round.
Finau bogeyed six times during Saturday’s action, struggling particularly on the front nine where he recorded five bogeys. He did manage to make birdies on holes 10 and 13, but it wasn’t enough to offset his earlier struggles.
Despite his efforts, Finau’s performance mirrored the difficulty of the day; only four golfers managed to end the round under par. Currently, he stands at +10 overall, placing him tied for 49th. This marks a drop of four spots from his position after Friday’s round.
The final round of the U.S. Open is set to commence at about 7 a.m. MDT on Sunday. Finau will be looking to improve his standing as he competes against a challenging field.
