Top Player Serah Williams Enters Transfer Portal Ahead of Offseason

MADISON, Wis. (BVM) – Forward Serah Williams has officially entered the transfer portal, positioning herself as one of the most sought-after players this offseason. Williams announced her decision on social media, thanking her coach and Wisconsin community for their support over the past three years.
“Thank you Coach Mo and the coaching staff for the past 3 years. Thank you, Wisconsin, and the Badger community for all of your support. I’m super blessed and grateful. With that being said, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal ❤️,” wrote Williams (@SerahWilliams25) on her Twitter account.
Originally hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Williams concluded her high school career at Niagara Prep in Ontario before making a significant impact with the University of Wisconsin. She was named to the Big Ten all-freshman team in 2023 and continued her impressive performance into the subsequent seasons.
During the 2024-25 season, Williams showcased her skills as a sophomore, averaging a double-double with 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game. Her outstanding performance earned her the title of Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a spot on the All-Big Ten first team for the second consecutive year.
Despite Wisconsin’s overall team struggles, Williams’s individual achievements have made her an attractive option for many top programs in women’s college basketball. Her 6-foot-4 stature combined with her ability to dominate both offensively and defensively will likely spark interest from several elite schools as she explores her options.
As one of the most talented prospects in the transfer portal, potential landing spots for Williams include several high-profile universities looking to bolster their rosters. With the college basketball landscape continuously evolving, her next move could significantly impact her future in the sport.
