Canadian Space Minister and Astronauts to Participate in Solar Eclipse Activities in Niagara Falls and Montreal

The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Sciences, and Industry, along with Canadian Space Agency astronauts Jeremy Hansen and David Saint-Jacques, will be partaking in activities surrounding the total solar eclipse in Niagara Falls and Montreal.

Many Canadians will have the opportunity to witness this once-in-a-lifetime experience, with locations in various Canadian provinces falling along the eclipse’s path.

To view this rare astronomical event safely, proper eye protection is essential.

On Sunday, April 7, 2024:

At 2 p.m. (ET), a public presentation on Artemis II and Canada‘s role in Moon exploration will be held by astronaut Jeremy Hansen at Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

On Monday, April 8, 2024:

At 1 p.m. (ET), NASA will broadcast live coverage of the solar eclipse, including reports from Niagara Falls, New York, featuring Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen.

At 2 p.m. (ET), the ‘Éclipse à Espace’ event, organized by the Société du par Jean-Drapeau and Espace pour la vie, will take place at Espace 67 in Montreal, Quebec.
