Anna Kalinskaya Tennis Singapore Open 2025

SINGAPORE — Top seed Anna Kalinskaya will begin her campaign at the WTA Singapore Tennis Open on Monday, January 27, 2025, facing Caroline Dolehide in a highly anticipated match. The Russian player, who withdrew from the Australian Open due to health concerns, is seeking her first win of the year after early exits in Brisbane and Adelaide.

Kalinskaya, ranked No. 1 in the tournament, has yet to win a set in 2025. Her fitness remains a question mark, but her love for indoor courts could give her an edge against Dolehide, who hasn’t played indoors in several years. “Kalinskaya loves the slick courts, and if she’s healthy, she has a lot more to offer,” said a tennis analyst.

Meanwhile, American Alycia Parks, known for her indoor prowess, will take on Maya Joint. Parks, who won the WTA 125 in Angers last year, is considered a dangerous opponent in indoor conditions. “When Parks is on, she’s one of the best indoor players out there,” said a commentator.

Other notable matches include Daria Saville facing Ann Li. Saville, who has struggled with injuries and fallen outside the Top 150, is looking to bounce back. “Saville is still a strong player, and this could be her chance to regain form,” said a source close to the Australian player.

Ajla Tomljanovic, who impressed at the Australian Open, will meet Simona Waltert. Despite Waltert’s indoor experience, Tomljanovic’s recent performances suggest she remains the stronger player. “If Tomljanovic has had enough practice, she should win this,” said a tennis expert.

The Singapore Open, held at the Kallang Tennis Centre, features ten matches on its opening day, including eight singles and two doubles matches. Matches will begin at 9:30 a.m. local time, with live streaming available on platforms like Tennis Channel, DAZN, and Sky Sports.
