Total War Warhammer 3 Nagash Teaser

LOS ANGELES, CA — On Tuesday, Creative Assembly released a teaser video for Total War: Warhammer 3, hinting at major developments for fans ahead of the firm’s 25th Anniversary showcase. The video included the message, “He’s back! Do you dare to face him?” Expectations are high that this foreshadows the return of Nagash, Supreme Lord of Undeath.

Nagash is recognized as one of the most formidable Necromancers in Warhammer lore. His return could signal the approach of the End Times, a cataclysmic event in the game’s plot. The teaser prominently features a massive vortex of blue-green energy erupting from a magic ritual site, a phenomenon well-known in the Old World of Warhammer.

Those familiar with Warhammer stories will note the battle scenes in the video, including High Elves fighting zombies near the ritual site. This imagery suggests the pivotal battle of Nine Daemons, where Arkhan the Black performs sacrifices to resurrect Nagash.

Nagash is incredibly powerful, comparable to a god of death in the Warhammer universe. His 2014 return to the tabletop game made him a highly expensive unit, costing 1,000 points to deploy, which accounted for half of a player’s army budget.

The return of Nagash also hints at forthcoming DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3, drawing inspiration from Games Workshop‘s recent End Times supplements. These expansions paved the way for new characters and campaigns, including several iconic heroes such as Grey Seer Thanquol and Archaon the Everchosen.

The forthcoming showcase on December 4 will provide more information about these anticipated developments. Fans are eager to see if Creative Assembly will recreate the End Times phenomena in-game, potentially paving the way for a shift towards Total War: Warhammer Age of Sigmar in the future.
