Tragic Incident At Crossfit Games

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a competitor at the CrossFit Games held in Fort Worth, Texas, has sadly passed away. The incident occurred during a swimming event, which was part of a challenging series of workouts.

The competitor, identified as Lazar Dukic, was last seen about 100 meters from finishing an 800-meter swim. Just moments after other athletes completed the swimming portion and emerged from the water, it became apparent that Dukic was missing.

A local CBS television station flew a helicopter over Marine Creek Reservoir, where first responders were later seen retrieving a body from the water, which was then placed in a body bag.

Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the deceased, and the organization behind the event has taken the step of canceling the rest of the day’s scheduled events as a mark of respect.
