Trent Williams Praises Jordan Mason, Comparing him to NFL Great Marshawn Lynch
Trent Williams, one of the most seasoned players in the National Football League (NFL), and widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, has set high standards over his career. In a recent interaction, he was asked to compare running back Jordan Mason to other notable players he has seen since starting his NFL journey in 2010. “He reminds me of Marshawn Lynch a little bit,” Williams remarked, drawing parallels between Mason and Lynch, famously known as ‘Beast Mode’. Williams noted that while appearances like the number and dreadlocks bring Lynch to mind, it is Mason’s vigorous running style and swift cuts that truly evoke the comparison. “Because as big as Marshawn was, he had the feet of a ballerina. You watch him out there in the open field making people miss or running people over. I think it’s the same thing kind of with Mason,” Williams explained.
Williams was further inquired about his experience blocking for Mason, to which the accomplished left tackle responded enthusiastically. “It’s a joy,” he expressed, highlighting Mason’s ability to run through arm tackles. “He runs hard, man. He runs hard. You know it’s going to take a committee to bring him down. You just think about getting a guy like that to the second level to where the smaller guys are, you’re typically going to have a lot of success with a guy that runs like he does.”
Upon hearing Williams’ unprompted comparison, Jordan Mason, whose locker was nearby, appeared visibly moved by the compliment, reportedly blushing.
