Trump Returns to Pennsylvania for Rally After Assassination Attempt
Former President Trump is making his way back to Pennsylvania for a rally on Wednesday. This event will be held at the New Holland Arena in Harrisburg and marks his first rally in the state following an assassination attempt in Butler on July 13.
Crowds started gathering at the Farm Show complex as early as Tuesday evening, eager to see Trump once again. This rally is significant, as it’s Trump’s sixth visit to Pennsylvania just this year, and his second at the Farm Show Complex, where he last appeared for an NRA convention back in February.
The atmosphere around the complex is heightened with visible security both inside and outside, especially after the former head of the Secret Service described the assassination attempt as a major operational failure. This has led to discussions about the safety protocols for gatherings, and while Trump agreed to hold indoor rallies for now, he surprisingly announced on Saturday that he would also return to hosting outdoor events.
In the wake of the Butler incident, attendees shared differing opinions on the rally. Some were there for the excitement of the event, but the shadow of tragedy looms as it was reported that one man died and two others were injured at the previous rally.
The political climate is tense, with recent polls indicating a close race between Trump and his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris. A new survey reveals that Harris is currently leading by four percentage points among likely Pennsylvania voters, a finding that adds extra urgency to the rally.
Additionally, Trump’s Vice Presidential nominee, JD Vance, has been vocal at campaign events in Nevada and Arizona, painting a dire picture of what might happen if Harris wins. He claimed that a victory for her would mean handing control of America over to illegal immigrants.
Adding to the day’s news, Trump is also scheduled to be in Chicago on Wednesday, speaking at the NABJ event. Notably, Harris has expressed her dissatisfaction with Trump’s approach towards Black women and correspondents, indicating that tensions within the campaign are continuing to rise.
