Turkish actor Vural Çelik has passed away at the age of 51. The announcement was made by Birol Güven, the General Director of Cinema at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, via social media. Güven stated, “Unfortunately, we lost Vural. I am very sad.”

Çelik had recently posted from a hospital on his Instagram account, sharing a video on October 15 where he humorously remarked, “If I had acted in as many TV episodes as my hospital visits, I would have had a Range Rover, yacht, villa, and more by now.”

Born on March 18, 1973, in Ankara, Çelik has roots in Ordu. His journey in acting began in 1989 when a friend informed him about a newspaper ad for actors at Levent Kırca’s Theater, which he subsequently joined. He later became part of Yasemin Yalçın’s theater troupe, working alongside and under the mentorship of artistic director Selahattin Taşdöğen. Through Taşdöğen, he met Necati Akpınar and began learning the ropes of production organization. He later collaborated with Yılmaz Erdoğan as an actor with BKM (Beşiktaş Cultural Center).

Çelik played notable roles such as Kubilay Peynircioğlu and Gülenay Peynircioğlu in the popular TV series “Avrupa Yakası” following advice from Ata Demirer. His most recent TV role was as the character Niyazi in “Seksenler.”
