Two Local Soccer Players to Make Debut at Canadian Championships

Two promising young soccer players, Olivia Audette from Stanbridge East and Elizabeth Bouchard from Brigham, are set to make their debut at the upcoming Canadian U-15F Soccer Championships, representing the Spatial de Saint-Hubert and Quebec.

Audette and Bouchard, who have previously participated in the Jeux du Québec with the Richelieu-Yamaska team in 2022 and 2023, respectively, will showcase their skills alongside the best 15-year-old female players in the country in Edmonton from August 12 to 16.

Both athletes have been dedicated to the sport since the age of five, starting in local clubs like Dunham and Cowansville before progressing through competitive levels with teams such as Montagnards de Bromont and Cosmos de Granby, leading to their recruitment by Spatial de Saint-Hubert in September 2023.

Playing in the prestigious Première Ligne de Soccer Juvénile du Québec (PLSJQ), where Spatial de Saint-Hubert currently leads the standings with an impressive 10-1 record, the team recently impressed scouts at a showcase event in Laval and even triumphed in a tournament in Boston earlier this year.

Audette and Bouchard, balancing academics at Fadette de Saint-Hyacinthe’s soccer program, will enter their fourth year of high school in September, navigating a demanding schedule that involves daily commutes between their hometowns and school, followed by soccer practices and matches.

Despite their youth, these dedicated athletes ensure their summers are filled with games and tournaments, while winter months are dedicated to match preparations and physical training in the gym, with Audette even catching up on soccer games like the Euro championship during her limited downtime.
