Uconn Women's Basketball Championship Rings Design

STORRS, CT (WFSB) – The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team celebrated the unveiling of their 2025 NCAA championship rings at a private event on Thursday night. The team, fresh off their title win against South Carolina, showcased rings designed by former UConn star Paige Bueckers along with current players Azzi Fudd and Caroline Ducharme.

These championship rings are not just typical jewelry; they symbolize the team’s history and achievements. Bueckers described the design process, emphasizing a preference for silver tones but integrating gold for the national championship trophy. “I’m a huge silver girlie,” she stated in a social media video.

The rings feature 12 trapezoid-shaped stones representing UConn’s 12 national titles, while five triangle stones on the side commemorate five consecutive Big East Tournament championships. Bueckers highlighted the phrase “The Power of Friendship,” which reflects the team’s unity throughout the season.

Inside the ring, scores from the team’s tournament journey are engraved, capturing their path to victory with notable wins, including an 82-59 triumph over Oklahoma in the Sweet 16 and a repeat score against South Carolina in the championship game. Additionally, a piece of the championship game ball is embedded in the ring, making it a unique keepsake.

<p“All in all, a beautiful decoration of all that we accomplished,” Bueckers said, holding the ring. “It encapsulates everything that we had and everything we went through to get there.”

UConn opens its quest for a 13th national title on November 4 against a yet-to-be-announced opponent, further igniting excitement among fans and players. As the Huskies prepare for their new season, they carry the legacy of their previous championship win and the inspiration from their newly unveiled rings.
