LONDON, England — The Ultimate Fighting Championship makes its highly anticipated return to London on Saturday, March 22, for a thrilling night of fights at The O2 Arena. This marks the UFC‘s 16th visit to the city and its 30th event in the United Kingdom, joining the ranks of the United States, Brazil, and Canada in hosting over 30 UFC events.

Headlining the event is a welterweight bout between former champion Leon Edwards and rising contender Sean Brady. This fight is significant for both fighters; Edwards seeks redemption after his recent title loss to Belal Muhammad, while Brady aims to continue his impressive win streak after recently defeating two former title challengers.

Edwards, who boasts a perfect 13-0 record in the UFC in London, will be making his first appearance since losing his title. He expressed his determination to silence critics and return to winning ways. “I learned a lot from the fight against Muhammad,” Edwards said. “I know what I need to do to get back to the top.”

Brady, on the other hand, has momentum on his side, coming into this fight with a record of 17-1 after securing victories over Kelvin Gastelum and Gilbert Burns. “I’m ready to prove I belong in the title conversation,” said the 31-year-old from Philadelphia. This matchup not only promises excitement but also has potential title implications for both men.

In the co-main event, veteran light heavyweight Jan Błachowicz faces off against the up-and-coming Carlos Ulberg. Błachowicz, a former champion, looks to halt a two-fight skid, while Ulberg enters the octagon on a seven-fight winning streak. “This is a critical fight for my career,” said Błachowicz. “I know I can still compete with the best in the division.”

Ulberg echoed similar sentiments, stating, “I want to prove I am the next title contender, and beating a former champion is a big step.” The stakes in this bout are high as both fighters seek to bolster their standings in a rapidly changing light heavyweight division.

In the welterweight division, fan-favorite Gunnar Nelson returns to London to face Kevin Holland. Nelson has had great success in the UK, boasting a 5-1 record in the UFC there. “Fighting in London feels like home, and I’m eager to put on a show for the fans,” Nelson remarked.

Holland aims to end a two-fight losing streak and has expressed his intent to deliver an entertaining performance. “I’m here to regain momentum and put on a great fight,” he stated.

Another highlight of the card is a women’s strawweight bout between Molly McCann and Brazilian newcomer Alexia Thainara. McCann, now competing at 115 pounds, is looking to bounce back after a recent loss. “I need this win to get back on track and prove myself in a new division,” she said.

Thainara, making her UFC debut, is stepping in on short notice after an opponent withdrawal, and is excited for the opportunity. “This is a dream come true, and I will not take it lightly,” she said.

The main card is rounded out by an exciting featherweight fight between Nathaniel Wood and Morgan Charriere, as well as a lightweight clash between Jordan Vucenic and Chris Duncan. Both matchups are poised to deliver action and further intrigue to the night.

The prelims feature local favorites Jai Herbert and Lone’er Kavanagh, as well as notable fighters like Mick Parkin and Christian Leroy Duncan. UFC London promises a well-matched card filled with both rising prospects and established fighters, ensuring fans will experience a night of thrilling action.

The event will be streamed live on ESPN+, with prelims beginning at 1 p.m. ET and the main card starting at 4 p.m. ET. Fans are eager for the excitement this weekend as the UFC returns to the UK.
