Nxt Unholy Union Vs Meta Girls Wrestling Match

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Unholy Union secured a shot at the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship after a dramatic confrontation with General Manager Ava during NXT New Year’s Evil on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. The duo will face the Meta Girls next week in a number one contender’s match, with the winners advancing to challenge the reigning champions.

The Unholy Union, consisting of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, made their case to Ava in her office, leading to the announcement of the high-stakes match. The Meta Girls, who have yet to claim championship gold, earned their spot by defeating Gigi Dolin & Shotzi, as well as Katana Chance & Kayden Carter, in a Triple Threat match on December 31, 2024.

Unholy Union, former NXT and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, have been on a resurgence since defeating Fatal Influence on December 24, 2024. Their experience and chemistry make them formidable contenders. Meanwhile, the Meta Girls, despite their lack of titles, have proven their mettle by challenging top teams like Belair and Cargill in recent months.

The upcoming match promises to be a clash of styles, with the Unholy Union’s dark, methodical approach contrasting with the Meta Girls’ high-energy offense. The winners will move one step closer to championship glory, adding another chapter to NXT’s competitive women’s tag team division.
