Makai Lemon Usc Football Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA – USC wide receiver Makai Lemon has made a significant impact in the 2025 football season, stepping into the year with high expectations. The third-year junior was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list and is projected as a top draft pick for 2026. Lemon has lived up to the hype, delivering elite performances in his first four games of the season.

At 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, the Los Alamitos native has proven to be unstoppable on the field. In a recent game against Michigan State, Lemon showcased his abilities, finishing with 225 all-purpose yards – the highest this season for a Trojan and the third-most in his career. He recorded eight catches for 127 receiving yards, along with a receiving touchdown, and also contributed 64 yards on kick returns, 23 on punt returns, and 11 rushing yards.

Lemon is currently ranked in the top 20 among FBS receivers with 24 receptions, and he is fourth nationally with 438 receiving yards. He shares the lead in Big Ten receptions with other notable players, but no other player comes close to his receiving yard count. He is also the only Big Ten player with over 600 all-purpose yards this season.

His consistency has been remarkable, catching at least four passes in every game played, even in limited playing time. After just two games against conference opponents, he tops the Big Ten in receptions and receiving yards, demonstrating a strong performance against Michigan State and another team.

Coaches and teammates laud Lemon’s skills. USC head coach Lincoln Riley expressed confidence in Lemon’s versatility and intelligence in handling multiple positions. “He’s a smart player who can execute wherever he plays,” Riley said. “That’s a big asset for us.”

Moreover, Lemon’s leadership is evident. He has fostered an accountable environment among teammates, helping to uplift the entire squad. “All the players hold each other accountable,” Lemon stated. “If someone is distracted, we encourage them to get focused.”

As the Trojans look towards the upcoming matches, maintaining discipline remains crucial. Although they have shown explosive offensive capabilities, Lemon’s role will be essential in keeping the team on track for a successful season.
