Veteran Actor Amitabh Bachchan Hospitalized for Angioplasty at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital
Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has undergone an angioplasty procedure at Mumbai‘s prestigious Kokilaben Hospital. The megastar was admitted to the hospital early on a Friday morning under strict security measures.
Reports indicate that the angioplasty was not performed on his heart but on a clot in his leg, indicating a peripheral, not coronary heart issue.
Taking to his social media platform, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his gratitude following the procedure with a brief message that read, “T 4950 – in gratitude ever.”
In a recent video shared on his social media, the actor was seen with his son Abhishek Bachchan, cheering for their team at an Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) match, showcasing his continued enthusiasm for sports.
Amitabh Bachchan’s health journey has been marked by significant challenges, including a Hepatitis B diagnosis back in 2000. This revelation came after a significant health scare during the filming of Coolie in 1982, where the actor was declared ‘clinically dead’ after an accident on set.
Over the years, Bachchan has battled various health issues, from Hepatitis B to myasthenia gravis, diverticulitis of the small intestine, and tuberculosis of the spine, showcasing his resilience and determination in managing his health.
On the professional front, the legendary actor is gearing up for the release of the much-anticipated film “Kalki 2898 AD,” where he stars alongside Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. Additionally, Bachchan is set to appear in the upcoming movie “Section 84,” adding to his illustrious filmography.
