Veteran Forward Nick Bonino Placed on Unconditional Waivers by New York Rangers
Veteran forward Nick Bonino has been placed on unconditional waivers by the New York Rangers for the purpose of contract termination. The 35-year-old was previously placed on waivers by the team last month but cleared the following day.
Bonino, who signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Rangers last summer, has recorded one goal and four assists in 45 games this season. Over his career, Bonino has played for several teams including the Ducks, Canucks, Penguins, Predators, Wild, and Rangers, amassing a total of 159 goals and 358 points in 868 games.
Notably, Bonino played a crucial role in the Pittsburgh Penguins’ back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 2016-17, contributing eight goals and 25 points in those two post-seasons.
