Aaron Jones Minnesota Vikings Injury Update

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings received encouraging news about running back Aaron Jones ahead of their Week 10 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Despite a shoulder injury sustained during last Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions, Jones is expected to play, as reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Jones, who was diagnosed with a mild AC joint sprain, expressed confidence about his recovery. After the Lions game, he told reporters he feels alright and plans to return to the field. “I’ve played through an AC (joint injury) before. It was more precautionary not to return,” Jones said.

In his last game, Jones had an impressive outing with nine carries for 78 yards and two receptions for 20 yards, marking his best performance this season. He had been limited in practice leading up to Sunday but remains optimistic.

“I feel good. I’m just taking it each day,” he added on Friday. Coach Kevin O’Connell also described Jones’ injury as “soreness” and noted that evaluations were “pretty positive.”

The Vikings, who are fighting for playoff positioning, will also miss tight end Josh Oliver and cornerback Jeff Okudah due to injuries. Safety Theo Jackson is listed as questionable. In contrast, the Ravens come into the game with no reported injuries.

Jones’ potential return is crucial for a Vikings team that has struggled offensively this season. Backup running back Jordan Mason has not met expectations, further emphasizing the need for Jones’ impact. O’Connell’s strategy will likely leverage Jones’ skills to enhance the team’s ground game against a Ravens defense that is known for its physicality.

Both teams view this game as a must-win to keep their playoff hopes alive. As the season progresses, the Vikings aim to tap into Jones’ experience and playmaking ability to control the tempo of the game. The matchup is set to take place at U.S. Bank Stadium, where the crowd will be eager to support their team in a critical juncture of the season.
