LOS ANGELES, March 6, 2025 – The popular Hallmark drama series The Way Home, starring Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams, and Sadie Laflamme-Snow, has officially been renewed for a fourth season. The announcement comes just one day before the Season 3 finale, which airs on March 7.

The fourth season is expected to debut in 2026, keeping the loyal fanbase eagerly awaiting more time-bending adventures of the Landry family, who possess the unique ability to time travel through a pond on their property.

“Our talented writing staff led by the mother-daughter showrunning team of Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke continues to amaze us as they raise the bar each season,” said Samantha DiPippo, Senior Vice President of Programming at Hallmark Media. “Their carefully crafted storytelling filled with family drama, romance, and an absorbing mystery has enthralled the show’s passionate fanbase and has made The Way Home appointment television,” she added.

Fans had expressed concerns about the future of the series after Hallmark announced plans to move it from linear cable to its streaming platform, Hallmark+. After receiving backlash, Hallmark reversed the decision, allowing viewers to continue watching the series on traditional television. Despite a drop in viewership during Season 3, which aired its premiere in January, the quality of writing and storytelling resonated with many, ensuring ongoing support from its dedicated audience.

The series has consistently received positive critical ratings since its debut in 2023, even scoring a 100% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes for its first season. However, viewership statistics indicated a downturn during the recent season, particularly with Episode 7, which saw a significant drop of over 200,000 viewers from the Season 3 premiere.

In response to a petition by fans seeking a fourth season, the series was renewed, highlighting the unwavering support it enjoys. “I’m so confused. We got to the table read for Episodes 9 and 10, and I had to keep leaning over going, ‘What just happened? Who did what?’ I can’t wait to make everybody cry,” said Leigh, speaking to TV Insider about the emotional stakes leading to the finale.

The Landry family drama, featuring three generations, has captivated audiences with its blend of emotional storytelling and supernatural elements. Kat, played by Leigh, her daughter Alice (Laflamme-Snow), and grandmother Del (MacDowell) navigate complex relationships while exploring history through their extraordinary time-traveling abilities.

Alexandra Clarke, one of the executive producers, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue the show, stating, “It really is a family, this cast and crew, and the team at Hallmark. It’s such a rare gift to be able to do this for a fourth time, and we are so grateful.”

As the finale approaches, anticipation builds around how the storylines will unfold, with viewers eager to see how the show resolves cliffhangers and develops character arcs in the upcoming season.

The third season finale of The Way Home airs on March 7 at 9/8c on the Hallmark Channel.
