Arkansas Razorbacks Baseball Game Baum Walker Stadium

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The No. 5 Arkansas Razorbacks are set to face the Washington State Cougars in their opening series at Baum-Walker Stadium, starting Friday at noon. However, inclement weather is affecting the schedule, with gusty winds and cooler temperatures expected to impact play.

Forecasters predict temperatures in the mid-40s at first pitch, with wind gusts exceeding 25 miles per hour, resulting in wind chills in the 30s. As fans prepare to attend the season opener, they are advised to dress warmly and consider bringing jackets or blankets.

According to meteorologist Drake Foley, the first game will be followed by Game 2, which is expected to start approximately 30 to 45 minutes after Game 1 concludes. The weather is expected to remain challenging on Saturday, prompting a schedule change for the second game, moving it from 2 p.m. to 1 p.m. due to anticipated rain and continued high winds.

Saturday’s forecast predicts temperatures will reach the mid-50s with a significant chance of scattered rain, making conditions potentially messy. The series finale on Monday is also projected to be cooler, with temperatures ranging from the high 30s to low 40s and partly cloudy skies.

Even though the weather may pose challenges, officials remain optimistic about hosting three out of four games under favorable conditions. The Razorbacks’ opener against Washington State marks the beginning of what they hope will be a promising season.
