West Ham United International Break 2024

The second international break of the 2024/25 season has commenced, with several senior players from West Ham United ready to represent their nations across the globe. A series of significant international qualifiers and Nations League matches are scheduled, presenting various challenges for these players.

In Europe, Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal from the Czech Republic are aiming to elevate their team into the top two of UEFA Nations League Group B1. The Czech side is set to compete against Albania and Ukraine, where they might face their former teammate, Andriy Yarmolenko.

Dinos Mavropanos is another player striving for international success. Representing Greece, he will encounter England at Wembley and the Republic of Ireland at home in Group B2. Both Greece and England have maintained a perfect record with two wins each in the campaign thus far.

Moving to Group A2, Alphonse Areola has been called up once again by France, who are currently second in their group. They aim for victories against Israel and Belgium.

Andy Irving celebrates his first senior call-up for Scotland after showcasing impressive performances at the start of the season. Scotland is scheduled to face Croatia and Portugal in a Group A1 double-header. The 24-year-old had previously only been capped at the U21 level four years ago.

Northern Ireland will feature Callum Marshall, who is currently on loan at Huddersfield Town, in their Group C3 fixtures against Belarus and Bulgaria. The team has claimed three points from their opening two fixtures, placing them a point behind first and second place.

In South America, Lucas Paquetá will join Brazil in their World Cup qualifying journey against Chile and Peru. Brazil is focused on solidifying their position within the six automatic qualification spots, with a marginal one-point lead over the seventh and eighth positions.

Meanwhile, in North and Central America, Michail Antonio‘s Jamaica continues their CONCACAF Nations League matches against Nicaragua and Honduras. Jamaica targets a top-two finish for a place in the quarter-finals.

Returning from injury, Edson Álvarez rejoins the Mexican squad, which will play friendlies against Valencia and the United States.

In Africa, Nayef Aguerd, on loan at Real Sociedad, will compete in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for Morocco against the Central African Republic.

Broadcasting of these international fixtures is limited on UK television, with England’s match against Greece being shown on ITV1, while other broadcast details remain to be confirmed. Viewers worldwide can find their listings for the fixtures online.
