William Ekong Named Player of the 2023 AFCON

William Ekong received the prestigious Player of the Tournament award for his outstanding performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The PAOK defender showcased exceptional skill throughout the competition, leading his team to a remarkable defensive record.

Ekong’s stellar display included three goals, one of which was the opening goal in the AFCON Final. His leadership at the back was instrumental in PAOK’s defensive solidity, conceding only two goals en route to the final.

The Goalkeeper of the Tournament title was awarded to South Africa‘s Ronwen Williams, recognizing his exceptional performances between the posts. Meanwhile, Emilio Nsue clinched the Golden Boot after netting an impressive total of five goals during the tournament.
