Jordan Vs South Korea Football

In the third round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Jordan is set to face South Korea, as both teams aim to strengthen their positions within Group B. The match is scheduled to take place at the Amman International Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Both Jordan and South Korea have garnered four points from their first two matches, with Jordan leading the group on goal difference. This pivotal match-up could significantly impact their chances of securing one of the top two automatic qualification spots.

Jordan has never qualified for a FIFA World Cup, which makes their robust start in this round particularly notable. With 13 points from six matches, they previously topped their second-round group, edging past Saudi Arabia. Under the guidance of their new manager, who took over in July 2024, Jordan has maintained first place in their group after a win and a draw.

On the other hand, South Korea is attempting to continue their streak of World Cup participations, having qualified consecutively since 1986. In the second round, they finished victorious with an impressive 16 points from six games. Despite the strong start, they were held to a goalless draw by Palestine in their opening third-round match and secured a narrow win against Oman thanks to late goals.

Heading into this encounter, Jordan may field a lineup similar to their previous games, with their main striker likely to continue leading the attack after a successful performance last match. A few players remain uncertain due to recent injuries.

South Korea is set to field a squad that could resemble their line-up from the game against Oman. Key players, including Koreans with recent injuries, might recover in time for selection, adding experience and talent to their efforts on the field.

Both sides have demonstrated capability, but South Korea’s overall squad strength might give them an edge, as per data analysis which suggests a 51.9% likelihood of a South Korean victory.
