Yabusele Cleared to Play Against Lakers Amid Sixers’ Injury Woes
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Guerschon Yabusele has been upgraded to active status and is expected to play in Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, despite dealing with mild knee swelling. The Philadelphia 76ers forward was initially listed as probable but has been cleared to take the court.
Yabusele’s availability comes at a critical time for the Sixers, who are missing key players Joel Embiid (knee) and Andre Drummond (toe). Both big men remain sidelined, leaving Yabusele to shoulder a significant portion of the frontcourt responsibilities.
“Yabusele is available tonight,” confirmed Sixers reporter Adam Aaronson via Twitter. The 28-year-old forward has been a reliable contributor this season, averaging 8.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
With Embiid and Drummond out, Yabusele is likely to see increased minutes and a larger role in the Sixers’ rotation. His presence will be crucial against a Lakers team that boasts a strong interior presence led by Anthony Davis.
Fantasy basketball managers are also keeping a close eye on Yabusele, as his expanded role could translate into valuable production. The Sixers are currently battling for playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference, making every game critical as the season progresses.
Tip-off for Tuesday’s game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
