Zach Braff Announces 20th-Anniversary Concert for ‘Garden State’ Soundtrack and New Film Release
Zach Braff, known for his roles in the TV series ‘Scrubs‘ and the film ‘Garden State,’ has announced a significant event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ‘Garden State’ soundtrack. On March 29, 2025, a concert will be held at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, featuring many of the artists from the original soundtrack, including The Shins, Iron & Wine, Frou Frou (featuring Imogen Heap), Colin Hay, Thievery Corporation, Remy Zero, Cary Brothers, Bonnie Somerville, and Sophie Barker from Zero 7.
The concert aims to raise money for The Midnight Mission, a homeless support organization, combining nostalgia with charitable giving. The ‘Garden State’ soundtrack has been pivotal in introducing a generation to indie music and highlighting the impact of carefully curated licensed songs in cinema.
In addition to this musical event, Zach Braff has also been involved in a new film release. ‘French Girl,’ a heartwarming romantic comedy, stars Braff alongside Vanessa Hudgens and Evelyne Brochu. The film, directed by James A. Woods and Nicolas Wright, follows Gordon, a hopeless romantic, whose proposal plans are disrupted. It was released in theaters on March 15, 2024, and became available on streaming platforms on March 19, 2024.
Braff’s connection to music is well-documented, particularly through his work on ‘Garden State’ and ‘Scrubs,’ where music played a central role in crafting the emotional landscape of both projects. The upcoming concert promises “special guests,” though it remains to be seen if Braff or his ‘Garden State’ co-star Natalie Portman will make an appearance.
