Los Angeles, CA – Actress Ego Nwodim Zamata said farewell to her character, Jennifer Kale, in a dramatic final scene for the Disney+ and Marvel series, ‘Agatha All Along.’ On the last day of filming, she exited a hole in the ground and soared into the sky with the help of a harness and crane.

“That was the last thing I shot for the show, and, I mean, just so many emotions, so many tears,” Zamata said. “It was so beautiful. The actual sky was beautiful, and being able to do a stunt like that was really cool. But it was also such a representation of the actual end of this journey. Like, there she goes.”

Throughout the series, Jen transforms from a powerless witch selling questionable candles to a liberated sorceress. Her journey includes teaming up with the devious Agatha, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn, on the treacherous Witches’ Road, a challenge offering participants their greatest desires.

Despite the humorous undertones, Zamata’s character faces deep emotional struggles. “Jen’s century of isolation left her with a sharp-tongued mistrust of others, and she eventually evolves into a compassionate leader of her new coven,” Zamata explained.

Zamata’s career has been mostly comedic, including her time on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and roles in ‘Home Economics’ and ‘Woke.’ In ‘Agatha All Along,’ she experiences a mix of drama and comedy while working alongside talents like Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza.

“The stunts are something I’ve never done before. I’ve never cried so much on a project before, and that’s very cool. It’s tapping into a level of depth that I think the audience can connect to, and I love that,” Zamata said.

As is common in Marvel storytelling, Jen’s aerial flight does not reveal her next steps after regaining her powers. Zamata has her own vision. “Jen’s desire to return to her roots is so strong, and I think a lot of people really want to see a win,” she stated.

In this process, Zamata feels transformed as well. “I honestly feel like I’m more in tune with nature since playing Jen. I’m grounding myself more, pressing flowers. I do feel like I’m appreciating the magic that already exists within nature,” she added.
