Nigerian Singer Tems Reflects on Nigerian Audience Perception of Her Music and Persona

Nigerian singer, Tems, recently shared her thoughts on how Nigerians perceive her music and persona during an interview with popular YouTuber Korty EO on ‘Flow with Korty.’

Tems expressed a deep personal connection with her Nigerian audience but pondered whether they truly understand the depth of her music, saying, ‘I don’t know if they understand my music, but I feel appreciated as a person by Nigerians.’

Reflecting on the complexities of the artist-audience relationship, Tems acknowledged the love from her fans while questioning if they genuinely grasp the artistic message embedded in her music.

During the interview, Tems also mentioned being the favorite Afrobeat star of the United States Consul General to Nigeria, Will Stevens, who praised her talent and voice, particularly highlighting her rendition of Bob Marley‘s ‘No Woman, No Cry’ in the ‘Black Panther‘ sequel.
