Steve Perry and Willie Nelson Reimagine ‘Faithfully’ for Farm Aid

Former Journey lead singer Steve Perry has joined forces with country music legend Willie Nelson to release a new version of the classic Journey ballad ‘Faithfully.’ This collaboration coincides with the 40th anniversary of Farm Aid, an organization aimed at supporting family farmers.

All proceeds from the newly reimagined track will be donated to Farm Aid, where Nelson serves on the board. Perry expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, ‘No one has a voice or vocal phrasing anything like Willie Nelson. Singing this duet with Willie has been something I’ve always wanted to do.’

Perry, who originally recorded ‘Faithfully’ with Journey in 1983, felt the song would resonate well with Nelson’s unique style. He added, ‘After recording ‘Faithfully’ with Journey, I always felt it would be a great song for Willie too. What a wonderful experience it was to finally sing with Willie. I’m so proud of what we have accomplished together.’

Willie Nelson echoed Perry’s sentiments, saying, ‘Working with Steve Perry on ‘Faithfully’ was a meaningful experience. It was a pleasure to collaborate on this song. I’m proud that we could create something meaningful and use it to give back through Farm Aid.’

The updated version of ‘Faithfully’ is now available for streaming and download. The original track, part of Journey’s eighth studio album ‘Frontiers,’ reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it a top-20 hit.
