Barbra Streisand Reworks ‘My Valentine’ with Paul McCartney’s Help

NEW YORK, NY — Barbra Streisand has partnered with Paul McCartney for a new version of his classic 2012 single, “My Valentine,” released on May 16 by Columbia Records. The duet showcases the heartfelt lyrics delivered by both artists on a lush musical backdrop.
Streisand opens the song with the lines, “What if it rained? We didn’t care… My valentine,” before McCartney joins in, singing about a love that shines through dark days. The original version was the lead single from McCartney’s solo album, “Kisses on the Bottom,” featuring Eric Clapton on guitar.
This new rendition is the second preview of Streisand’s upcoming duets album, “The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two,” set for release on June 27. This album serves as a sequel to her Grammy-nominated LP, “Partners,” which debuted in 2014.
Streisand expressed her excitement on Instagram, sharing, “What a joy it was to record ‘My Valentine’ with @paulmccartney. To share time with him in the studio was truly special.” The 37th studio album will also feature collaborations with artists like Hozier, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Tim McGraw, and others.
The music industry is abuzz with anticipation for this new release, marking another remarkable chapter in Streisand’s career, as she continues to work with legendary musicians.
