Cast of ‘The Better Sister’ Enjoys Fun-Filled Filming Experience

Long Island, NY – Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks brought a summer camp vibe to the set of their new show, “The Better Sister.” The cast members, including Maxwell Donovan, Gloria Reuben, and Gabriel Sloyer, praised Biel and Banks for their efforts to create a fun and engaging atmosphere while filming last summer.
Biel, 43, organized outings for the cast, including a trip to a Justin Timberlake concert, where the seats were so close that Sloyer thought Timberlake was waving directly at him. He later realized that the pop star was actually waving to Biel. “They really made everyone feel right at home from the beginning,” Sloyer shared, commending the actresses’ “incredible leadership.”
Donovan referred to the filming experience as a “dreamy summer,” noting that Biel and Banks were intentional about making every moment enjoyable. Kim Dickens and Bobby Naderi, who also star in the series as detectives, mentioned that Biel even set up a padel tournament for the cast. Dickens joked about Biel’s skills, saying, “Jess was pretty solid at it, that’s why she set it up.”
The limited series focuses on two estranged sisters, played by Biel and Banks, who must reconcile their differences after a prominent Manhattan attorney is murdered. The murder victim is connected to both characters, as he is the husband of Biel’s character and an ex of Banks’ character.
As shooting progressed, Dickens and Naderi reflected on a surprise reunion, having previously worked together on “Fear the Walking Dead.” Naderi’s new hairstyle led to Dickens initially not recognizing him on set. “Once he jogged my memory, I said, ‘Of course,'” she recalled, noting Naderi’s military haircut from the previous series.
The show also stars Corey Stoll, Lorraine Toussaint, and Matthew Modine, and is set to begin streaming on Amazon on May 29.
