John Krasinski Passes the Torch as 2024 Sexiest Man Alive

NEW YORK CITY, May 20, 2025 — John Krasinski, who was named PEOPLE‘s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive, is ready to pass the title to the next rising star. At the premiere of his new film, Fountain of Youth, held on May 19 at the American Museum of Natural History, Krasinski shared his thoughts on the honor.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the 45-year-old actor offered advice to the next Sexiest Man Alive. ‘Buckle up. It is a hard crown to wear, but you’ll be all right. Just stay focused. Take a deep breath, you’ll get through it,’ Krasinski said.

Krasinski also discussed his children’s friendship with the film’s director, Guy Ritchie. ‘Who’s not obsessed with Guy? He’s got a heck of an accent. He’s so gregarious and has the best vibe. He talks to them like adults and asks what they want to eat, which made them feel like they were part of their big break,’ he remarked.

He expressed admiration for Ritchie, stating, ‘I would do anything for Guy. I would’ve been a waiter in his movie. So to have him ask me to be the lead, it was the easiest yes I’ve ever given.’

Fountain of Youth follows two estranged siblings on a quest to find the mythical Fountain of Youth. Starring alongside Krasinski are Natalie Portman, Domhnall Gleeson, and others. The film is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on May 23, 2025.

Portman, 43, who plays Krasinski’s sister in the film, shared her excitement about working with him. ‘It was incredible to get to work with John. He’s so funny and kind, and playing brother and sister was really fun,’ she said during a recent interview.

As the siblings, Luke and Charlotte Purdue, try to reconcile their differences, Portman noted that their on-screen chemistry mirrored their real-life connection. ‘We had a great time traveling and shooting in different locations like the pyramids and Vienna. It felt like being with family,’ she added.

Krasinski’s reflective tone highlighted the dynamics of sibling relationships, stating, ‘This isn’t a love story; it’s a sibling rivalry. The second I see her, we get right into bickering.’ The film promises to take viewers on an adventurous journey filled with humor and familial ties.
