Epic Universe Theme Park Opens Next Week in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Orlando Resort is set to unveil its highly anticipated theme park, Epic Universe, on May 22, 2025. The park, the first major addition to the Universal Orlando complex in 25 years, promises to transport visitors into five unique worlds.
Executives at Universal Orlando are excited as they prepare for the grand opening. “This is a really exciting moment for us as a company,” said Jeff Polk, general manager and executive vice president of Epic Universe. Polk, a longtime Universal employee, expressed pride in the park’s inception, which can be traced back to ideas stemming from the opening of Universal Studios Florida in 1990.
Epic Universe is designed to combine thrills and family-friendly experiences across its 750 acres. The park features attractions inspired by popular franchises such as ‘How to Train Your Dragon,’ ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,’ and ‘Super Nintendo World.’ Visitors can expect interactive challenges, live shows, and immersive landscapes.
Alicia Stella, a theme park fan who has followed Epic Universe’s development, stated, “I think this is my ninth time being here. It’s amazing to see a theme park from the very start, and it has been so long.” Stella echoed Polk’s anticipation for the park’s opening day, noting it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
For ticket prices, a one-day ticket to Epic Universe is $139 for adults and $134 for children. Multi-day tickets are also available for Florida residents, ranging from $97 to $125. Each package varies based on the number of days and requirements.
As anticipation builds, Polk shared, “I personally feel very proud to be a part of that. We’re finally opening Epic Universe, and it represents a tremendous addition to Universal Orlando Resort.” The park will operate through June 1, offering early entry for guests staying at Universal hotels.
Overall, Epic Universe signifies an expansive future for Universal Orlando, with projections indicating that it could bring in over $2 billion in its first year. The excitement is palpable, and Universal aims to deliver a remarkable experience to its guests post-opening.
