Playstation 5 Console Sales Europe April 2025

London, England – The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console in Europe for April 2025, with sales reaching 207,689 units, according to estimates from VGChartz. This brings the console’s total sales in Europe to approximately 25.86 million since its launch.

The Nintendo Switch followed with estimated sales of 78,461 units, contributing to a lifetime total of 38.76 million units sold. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X|S sold 44,187 units, increasing its lifetime sales to about 8.42 million units.

Despite strong sales numbers, the PlayStation 5’s April performance showed a decline compared to the same month last year, dipping by 27,326 units, or about 11.6%. The decline is notable when compared to the sales of the PlayStation 4 in April 2018, which sold 437,171 units. Xbox Series X|S sales also fell, down by 538 units, or 1.2%, from the previous year.

When looking at sales month-to-month, the PS5 experienced a drop of nearly 94,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S dropped by almost 15,000. The Nintendo Switch sales remained flat.

For the year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold around 1.13 million units, whereas the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S have sold approximately 340,000 and 200,000 units respectively.

Hardware estimates are based on retail sampling and trends in individual countries within Europe, typically accurate within 10% of actual totals. VGChartz regularly updates its figures to align with official shipment numbers from console manufacturers.
